I write children's nonfiction, travel guidebooks and freelance articles for magazines.

My start in book writing began more than a decade ago when John Muir, now Avalon Travel Publishing, printed my first travel guide, Ohio Travel Smart. Since then I’ve gone on to write several more travel guides and more than 16 children’s books, in the genre of picture books.

I is for Idea inspires creativity and imagination in readers as they learn all about inventions. While not an inventor herself, Schonberg became fascinated with the contributions and dedication of inventors and their work during her many years as a children’s writer. The author weaves interesting facts, history and culture into her captivating poetry and detail-filled expository text as she connects readers of all ages to inventors from all over the world!
